About Us

The Global Filipino

As the online publication arm of the Global Filipino Network, our mission is to provide the platform to connect Filipinos across the world and at the same time bridge the Filipino community with people of other culture and groups through news and information. For so long, news has been controlled by the hands of a couple of: prepared editors and scholars at created media houses. In line with the growing strength of information technology, and with the great potential of social media, this tradition of news gathering, writing, and sharing has been evolving in a new form wherein the power to inform and learn is being given to the people willing to do so.

We provide both original and hand-curated contents with the best substance to our followers. We are not the traditional newspaper. Our goal is to provide you with the information that is most relevant to you and address issues that impact you. At the same time, we encourage you to provide your comments and share in the discussion through our Speak Out section. As a Filipino community around the world, our voices need to be heard and through this platform, we connect and unite the Filipinos.

The Global Filipino is founded by a group of Filipino-Americans and American Filipinos in the San Francisco Bay Area.
