Apl.de.Ap, Will.i.am, Taboo of Black Eyed Peas in “Rebuild Philippines!”
LA music fans trooped to the Greek Theatre in Hollywood, California, on Sunday, June 8, with noble intentions to lend support to the victims of typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
Dubbed “Rebuild Philippines!”, the benefit concert was organized by the Apl.de.Ap Foundation,Inc (ADAFI). The proceeds of the concert will be dispersed by the ADAFI to several projects and NGOs in the Philippines who are doing direct work to help the survivors of the devastation.
Concert-goers were treated with a spectacular show and live sounds by some of today’s hottest artists such as Apl.de.Ap, Will.i.am and Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas, America’s Best Dance Crew Alumni Jabbawockeez, Sing-Off group The Filharmonics, beatboxer Dub FX, Yardnoise, Youtube phenom AJ Rafael and up and coming pop quartet The Jazmin Sisters.
Spotted celebrity attendees include former American Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez, Jokoy, Nia Peeples, DJ Ammo, Anjanette Abayari and Kelly Hu. Cher Calvin, KC Montero and KIIS FM’s Manny on the Street all acted as emcees of the show.
The Apl.de.Ap Foundation is committed to promoting and empowering Filipino youth around the world, particularly in the Philippines and the United States by partnering and collaborating with organizations on creative and innovative approaches in arts and technology. The Foundation’s goal is to provide the tools to individuals who are passionate and driven to make a difference in their lives and in the lives of others.The group is also involved in crisis situations that affect the Philippines.
