Panel Discussion on Obama’s Executive Action on Immigration: Bakit Hindi Dapat Matakot Mag-Apply Ng DACA

There’s about 15,000 Filipinos in California alone who are eligible to apply for the DACA  (Deferered Action For Children Arrivals), a US Immigration policy which allows certain undocumented immigrants who entered the country before their 16th birthday and before June 2007 to receive a renewable two-year work permit and exemption from deportation However, no one has seemed to apply for this.

Ito ang topic na pinag-usapan sa isang panel discussion na inorganize ng Global Filipino Network in partnership with WestBay Pilipino Multi-Service Center nuong March 20, 2015.

For those who missed the event,  you can watch this video and find out the answers to basic questions like:

  • What is this DACA and DAPA that we are hearing about related to Obama’s Executive Action on Immigration?
  • Is there a risk in applying for DACA?
  • What should you do next?

Global Filipino Network will be holding several more events on the same topic in various areas in the US.  Watch out for the detailed schedule here: events.globalfilipinonetwork.org

Disclaimer: This panel discussion event is to provide the basic information about this Immigration policy. It does not constitute as a legal advice and you need to consult your immigration lawyer for your specific situation.
