Fil-Am High School Student Amazes Audience, Gets Standing Ovation
(Alameda, California–March 20, 2015) Fil-Am Angela Busgano, a senior high school student at Moreau Catholic High School in Hayward, California, captivated the audience with her singing at the school’s Band and Orchestra Concert. Angela is one of the two vocal soloists who performed with the 150-member Band and Orchestra.
Angela sang “Feeling Good”, a song from the musical “The Roard of the Greasepaint–The Smell of the Crowd” and was written by English songwriters Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley. The song was also recorded by Nina Simone, among other artists, but was popularized by Michael Buble.
“Aside from singing at the school’s musical play and performing at the band for 4 years now, Angela also shares her talent by singing as a cantor at her parish church,” says Ted Newton, the school’s band and orchestra director.
The Concert program included selections from various genres including popular movie soundtrack such Music from The Incredibles, Highlights from Harry Potter, as well as ensembles chosen by the student themselves such as songs by Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars.
