Helping Rebuild The Philippines
“Rebuild Philippines” — This is the theme of the recently-held benefit dance event of Power ng Pinoy at the Cheryl Burke Dance studio. About 220 people came to enjoy the night of dancing as they help the victims of typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan in the Philippines. The event is in partnership with both the Cheryl Burke Dance and the Philippine American Press Club.
“We really had a great turn out this evening”, says Arnold Pedrigal, Executive Producer of Power ng Pinoy TV show, “It goes to show that Filipinos here abroad do care very much about our fellow kababayans in the Philippines. Our theme is #RebuildPhillippines because our goal is not just a one-off help but a long-term support for the country.”
The benefit dance featured celebrities Fe Delos Reyes and Sansu Ramsey who both wow the crowds. Other performers included Krystin Janicek and Sharisse Paule who did ballet dance and acoustic singer Derin Orbito. Anthony Rivero, host of Power ng Pinoy, emceed the program with music provided by DJ Christopher Alberto. The decorations and program were provided by Johnny Veloso of Steps, Styles, and Spotlights.
I am delighted to see the Filipino community gathered tonight and our studio is proud to be part this event. exclaims Sherri Burke, the mother of Cheryl Burke, a multi-awarded dancer in ABC TV’s Dancing with the Stars.
