In one of our episodes of Power ng Pinoy TV Show, we had brought to you the story of Lili Tarachand—a Filipino-American successful entrepreneur based in the SF Bay Area who achieved her dream of having her own company. She was born and raised in the Philippines and came to the United States. She initially worked in a corporate world but decided to start her own company. Now she is the CEO of LTD Global and is also very passionate in helping our Kababayans in the Philippines.
Through the generosity of Lili Tarachand and her staff at LTD Global, over 2,000 meals are on their way to Iligan City, Philippines. The region is still recovering from the devastating effects of Typhoon Sendong (Washi) which caused 1,000+ fatalities, the evacuation of 100,000 people and damage estimated at over $48+ million.
Lili continuously seeks ways to give back to the Fil-Am community. She chose to partner with Kids Against Hunger (www.kidsagainsthungerpleasanton.org) because of the success they’ve had feeding the needy and working with other organizations to seek long term solutions to the systemic causes of hunger. The Pleasanton satellite is part of a national organization which has the capacity to produce over 50 million meals per year. They engage American volunteers by organizing packing events in which they assemble the ingredients in a specified order and quantity, weigh and seal the bags, box them up, and load them onto pallets. The meal ingredients were formulated by food scientists to provide a rich source of easily digestible protein, carbohydrates, and vitamins needed by an undernourished child’s body and mind. The food offers all 9 of the essential amino acids required for complete nutrition, something that can’t be said about other typical food relief sources such as rice or beans alone. It is also very simple to prepare, requiring only 6 cups of boiling water to make a complete meal.

Donating her time and money to Kids Against Hunger is just one of many contributions Lili Tarachand has made to the greater Filipino-American community. Lili has been recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential Filipina American Women in the United States by the Filipina Women’s Network (FWN) and was recently invited to be a part of the USPAAC (US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation) Western Region Board of Directors. Lili was born and raised in the Philippines. She graduated with a double major degree in Business Administration and Accounting from UP Diliman. Prior to graduating, she was hired by a Fortune 500 company, Unilever to be part of their elite management trainee program. In 2000, Lili decided to pursue some US opportunities and moved to California. She worked for a software start-up company and later on worked for Siebel (now Oracle) on an acquisition transition project.
In 2003 Lili Tarachand took the leap of starting her own company, LTD Global, based with its headquarter in Pleasanton, California. Almost a decade later, it is a thriving firm that provides accounting and business services support to small and medium sized companies and non-profits.
