A Night of Beauty and Glamour – Binibining Pilipinas USA 2014

Seventeen Filipino-American beauties  vied for the prestigious title of Binibining Pilipinas USA 2014 which culminated last Saturday, July 19, at the Centinela Valley Center for the Arts in Los Angeles, Ca.

Emerged victorious was 17-year old Czarina Hermoso of Panorama City, Ca.She was crowned by out-going titleholder Geramie Dizon(Binibining Pilipinas 2013) at a glittering rites witnessed by thousands of cheering crowd, mostly relatives and supporters of each contestant.

Asked why she joined the pageant, Hermoso believes:

 

It would be a fun learning experience, as I feel I have the cultural and personality traits unique to being a Filipina.

 

Completing the Top 5 were Christelle Abello(19,Carlsbad,Ca) who was crowned Binibining Pilipinas USA-Tourism 2014; Caitlyn San Diego(19,Walnut,Ca)-1st runner-up; Gabbie Gonzales(17,Burbank,Ca)-2nd runner-up and Lovely Jane Tanglao(24,New Jersey)-3rd runner-up.

Former MTV-Asia VJ Belinda Panelo and Hollywood- actor Kevin Klienberg of Power Rangers Time Force fame acted as hosts of the show. A star-studded panel of judges which include Blackeyed Peas Apl.de.Ap, 2010 Miss Universe finalist Venus Raj and 2012 Miss Universe first runner-up Janine Tugonon, were given a tough task of choosing the winners of the pageant. NBC’s Sing-Off group The Filharmonics serenaded the lovely candidates with their vocal prowess during the evening gown competition.

Now on its second year, the Binibining Pilipinas USA beauty pageant serves as a platform for young beautiful Filipina- Americans to showcase their wit, charm and talent as they aspire to be successful in their own careers.
